As Far as I Can See

"A memory of place or feeling can be all-consuming, specific and broad at the same time, so strong that it can saturate and overtake any other thought of the past or future, only allowing observation in the present. As Far as I Can See features work which drew from these types of memories and then transformed into something else. Paint can turn an old space into a new one, a space that echoes a memory yet encapsulates something deeper and more complex, a psychological, emotional, and visual space that shimmers and vibrates and surrounds a person. As Far as I Can See invites feeling while maintaining an openness that leans towards the poetic." - Eve Everett

Eve Everett is an artist from Spanish Fork, Utah whose paintings move between abstraction and representation. Everett grew up foraging for mushrooms in the Uinta mountains and drawing in art museums, all of which nurtured an innate sense of deep observation and creating with her hands. She runs a wedding cake business and is fascinated with every creative process she tries: baking, woodworking, soapmaking, sewing, welding, painting, etc. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Brigham Young University and is graduating in Fall 2026. Her work has been exhibited in the Weight Room Gallery, Border & Square, 99.9 Gallery, and in a semester-long exhibition in the Harold B. Lee Library. Everett has received multiple awards and scholarships, including a grant and admission to participate in the Awagami Washi Collaborative Project, an intensive papermaking workshop in Japan. Everett is currently developing a body of large-scale oil paintings that use color, form, and experiences to create new emotional and psychological spaces.
