Arted 397: Issues in Contemporary Art Class
11/13/2025 - 12/04/2025
About us: We are the class of fall 2025 Issues in Contemporary Art. From art educators to mechanical engineers and psychologists, we are all connected by our interest and passion for art. Throughout the semester, we have explored themes such as identity, the body, memory, place, time, language, and spirituality. While studying these themes through the perspectives of contemporary artists, we have come to appreciate new forms of art, interpret them, and create our own. As we learned about contemporary art, we also reflected on our personal experiences, resulting in works that highlight our interests and backgrounds. Our identities as scholars, friends, spouses, parents, disciples of Christ, and artists have shaped the work we produce in this class. We continue to let those relationships and our understanding of contemporary art influence our journeys as artists.
