The Lost and Found

A / B Gallery / 1106

"The Lost and Found shifts between order and disorder, mirroring transformation of the materials themselves. What begins as a recognizable system of organization becomes organic, playful, and strange. The Lost and Found explores how an object can become “found” through transformation. A discarded stuffed animal, animal bone, insect, or industrial fragment may begin as something overlooked or separated from its original purpose, but through collecting, altering, and combining it with other materials, it becomes something newly discovered.

The gallery becomes a place where objects are not returned to what they once were but are found again as something else. In this sense, being lost is not the opposite of being found; it is part of the process of becoming something new." - Kate Paulson
